Hi-Tech Shelving by Hallowell is a complete shelving line with the strength needed to handle most industrial applications with the versatility needed for today's modern facilities. Every shelving unit is designed and engineered to handle daily use for a lifetime without losing integrity. Hi-Tech metal shelving systems include a multitude of components and options for customizing down to the last detail. Standard-post units are available in OPEN or CLOSED types as well as STARTER and ADDER units.
Hi-Tech Shelving units are available in a variety of sizes in Medium Duty, Heavy Duty, and Extra Heavy Duty construction. Starter and Adder units are available for all 5, 6 and 8 shelf models.
Open Starter Units include two beaded front posts, two angle back posts, one pair of back sway braces, two pair of side sway braces and shelves with shelf clips applicable to unit ordered.
Open adder units include one beaded front post, two angle back posts, one pair of back sway braces, one pair of side sway braces and shelves with shelf clips applicable to unit ordered.
Closed Starter units include two beaded front posts, two angle back posts, one set of back panels, two sets of side panels and shelves with shelf clips applicable to unit ordered.
Closed Adder Units include one beaded front post, two angle back posts, one set of back panels, one set of side panels and shelves with shelf clips applicable to unit ordered.
About the Design
Each Hi-Tech metal heavy-duty shelf has a tubular welded box beam in front and rear for maximum strength, exclusive triple bend side flanges for even more strength, lapped and welded corners, and the shelves are punched to accept shelf dividers. Each shelf is installed using only 4 shelf clips. Hi-Tech Steel Shelving is perfect for most medium-duty and heavy-duty product, tool and gear storage.
Compression-shelf clips allow the shelves to be adjusted on 1-1/2 inch centers. The bottom shelf is seated on the floor to prevent debris from collecting beneath the unit. Shelf capacity varies with the unit size and is listed below in the “About the Sizes” section. Please note that shelf loads must be uniformly distributed.
Hi-Tech Shelving Units are shipped knock-down direct to you from the factory. All assembly hardware is included. Hi-Tech shelving systems have been specially designed to allow for fast and easy assembly. Please note that many shelving orders arrive via freight truck. If you are a residential customer, have a clearance issue or need to have your order unloaded from the semi truck, please indicate in our shipping option. Liftgate or inside delivery will increase the shipping for this product. Please contact our customer service department for assistance.
About the Materials:
Hi-Tech Shelving frames are fabricated from 14 gauge cold rolled steel. 3/8” x 7/8” slots on 1-1/2” centers allow positioning of the shelves with Zinc plated 13 gauge shelf clips. Shelving units are finished with a durable Grey powder coat.
Shelves are formed with two ribs along the horizontal front and rear edge and are stamped on the top left corner for identification. All four corners are lapped and resistance welded to provide a rigid corner and add extra strength to the shelf. The top surface is punched for attaching Shelf Dividers from left to right on 1-1/2"centers. Front and rear surfaces are punched for attaching accessories. Tubular front edge is designed to protect against impact loads.
Medium duty shelves are fabricated from cold rolled steel. The maximum load for the medium duty shelves ranges from 350 lb. to 500 lb. based on frame and shelf size. Heavy duty shelves are fabricated from heavy gauge cold rolled steel. The maximum load for heavy duty shelves ranges from 400 lb. to 800 lb. based on frame and shelf size. Extra heavy duty shelves are fabricated from extra heavy gauge cold rolled steel. The maximum load for extra heavy duty shelves ranges from 750 lb. to 1250 lb. based on frame and shelf size.
