The Penco Guardian Lockers are the new standard for school corridors and employee break rooms with quieter operation and an appealing appearance. Penco Guardian Duplex Lockers allow for full length space for two people while using less floor space. The flush mount Classic III stainless steel recessed handle allows for flush padlock use and is standard with every Guardian.
About the Materials and Finish
Lockers are made from prime grade mild cold rolled steel. A solid 16 Gauge door front, nylon guides, and rubber bumpers on all latch hooks make for quiet door operation. All metal is pretreated through six stage cleaning phosphatizing and preparation process. Powder coated enamel is electrostatically applied for optimum paint adherence. Coat hooks and rods are zinc plated.
About the Guardian Locker Construction
Each locker is an individual door and frame, top, bottom, back, hooks and shelves with common intermediate uprights separating the compartments. The welded door frames have mortise and tenon construction and are spot welded for lifetime rigidity. Locker construction is square, rigid and without warp. Features include:
- Two side by side lockers in right hand and left hand configuration
- Latch clips engage the door frame at two points on 20” and 36” high doors
- Special nylon glides fastened to the latch channel assembly
- Rubber silencers minimize noise
- Classic III stainless steel recessed handle accepts built-in locks, padlocks and keys
- Tamper resistant fastener
- Two sets of standard flush ventilation louvers
- Doors have three hinges
- All Hinges are full loop, 5 knuckle design
- Full channel formations are on the lock and hinge sides of the door to conceal and protect the lock bar and hinges
- Right angle flanges are on the top and bottom
- Tops and bottoms are 24 gauge with 3 sides formed to 90 degrees
- Backs and sides are 24 gauge
- Manufacture is square, rigid and without warp

About the Additional Equipment
Each locker has a polished aluminum number plate attached to the door, 2-1/4" wide x 1" high, with black numerals not less than 3/8" high. If the starting number is not specified, 1 will be the standard start. The patented die-cast Vanguard Standard handle pulls out with a simple motion for opening. You can close the door with one motion of one hand, since the spring-loaded latch clips will secure the door even while the door is locked. The Duplex lockers also include the following:
- Coat hooks and coat rods are zinc plated
- Lockers less than 18” deep will have three single-prong hooks and one double-prong ceiling hook
- Lockers 18” or deeper have a coat rod
About the Compartment Sizes
The overall height of these lockers is 78” including the standard six inch legs. The compartment sizes available are as follows:
- 72” H x 15"W x 15"D, Overall Size: 78”H x 30”W x 15”D, 160lbs.
- 72”H x 18"W x 18"D, Overall Size: 78”H x 36”W x 18”D, 168lbs.
About the Options
The Medallion option offers a sound dampening welded door panel to reduce the noise of slamming doors. The Guardian locker is available with 6” legs or No legs, depending on the configuration of your locker area. Round Hole Perforations are located on the sides are available to add increased ventilation.
About the Available Accessories
Zee Bases, Front Bases and End Bases are accessories that will provide a finished looked to your locker setting. Sloping Hoods are available with hidden fasteners making a flush exterior surface. Concrete Floor Anchors are recommended for use in anchoring lockers to the floor, making them secure and safe. Padlocks are available for additional locker security if needed. ADA lockers with lower reach points and appropriate symbols are available.
