The Vanguard lockers have been the industry standard for rugged, dependable design for decades. The quick ship lockers are available in a wide variety of configurations and sizes and are among the
quietest on the market. Featuring doors with louvers, ADA rated recessed handles, and a powder coat baked enamel finish, they
withstand the daily use and abuse typically given to a locker.
About the Materials and Finish
All locker body parts and shelves are made from prime grade 24 gauge mild cold rolled sheet steel free from surface imperfection, and capable of taking a high grade enamel finish. Doors less than 15" wide are formed from one piece of 18 gauge while 15" wide or wider are 16 gauge. The powder coat baked enamel finish is electrostatically applied and available in Gray or Champagne for quick ship Vanguard Lockers. All locker body parts are finished in the same color.
About the Vanguard Locker Construction
Built on the unit principle - each locker has an individual door and frame, top, bottom, back and hooks with common intermediate uprights separating compartments. The welded door frames have mortise and tenon construction and the cross frame members of 16 gauge channel shapes include intermediate cross frames that are securely welded to the vertical framing members to ensure rigidity . Features include:
- Latch clips engage the door frame at two points
- Special nylon glides fastened to the latch channel assembly and rubber silencers minimize noise
- ADA rated recessed Vanguard
- Every door has a continuous door strike
- One set of ventilation louvers per door
- Doors have two hinges
- Hinges are a full loop, 5-knuckle design
- Full channel formations are on the lock and hinge sides of the door to conceal and protect the lock bar and hinges
- Right angle flanges are on the top and bottom.
- Standard 6” legs on quick ship lockers.
- Front legs are integrated into the door frame
- Rear legs are adjustable for leveling and anchoring
The
patented die-cast Vanguard handle pulls out with a simple motion for opening. You can close the door with one motion of one hand, since the spring-loaded latch clips will secure the door even while the door is locked.
About the Additional Equipment
Each locker has a polished aluminum number plate attached to the door, 2-1/4" wide x 1" high, with black numerals not less than 3/8" high. If the starting number is not specified, 1 will be the standard start. The Three Tier lockers also include the following:
- Three zinc plated single-prong wall hooks
- Four wall hooks for 15" wide and wider

Quick Ship Vanguard Lockers overall heights of 66” or 78” including the standard 6” legs. The compartment sizes available are:
- 24"H x 12"W x 12"D, Overall Size 78”H x 36”W x12”D, 153 lbs.
- 24"H x 12"W x 15"D, Overall Size 78”H x 36”W x 15”D, 171 lbs.
- 24"H x 12"W x 18"D, Overall Size 78”H x 36”W x 18”D, 180 lbs.
About the Quick Ship Options
Slope tops are often used instead of flat tops to prevent the accumulation of dust and debris, and to discourage the use of locker tops as a storage areas. Each kit contains 3 tops, 3 backs and 4 ends.
Front and end bases are designed to fit between the 6" legs with a clean flush appearance and prevent the accumulation of dust and dirt under the lockers. Built in, differently keyed dead bolts are available with master keys. We also offer
factory assembly for your lockers (add 5 days to manufacturing time) and, because lockers must be floor or wall anchored for safety purposes, a set of
concrete anchors.
About Additional Quick Ship Accessories
Standard vertical angle or wall angle (slip joint) fillers provide a professional, finished appearance. Fillers can be used to cover columns, pipes or other obstacles in a row of lockers, or fill the gap between the lockers and a wall. All filler styles are available in our Locker Accessories.
