Compliant safety cabinets minimize employee exposure, reduce fire risks, and add to efficiency when positioned near points of-use. The Yellow 30 Gallon Safety Cabinets for Flammables comply with
OSHA regulations, are FM Global tested/approved and are designed in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code 30 regulations. The convenient size keeps work areas flexible while allowing increased access to often-used liquids without compromising the safety of employees. Available with a manual door, the Flammable Storage Units have a capacity of thirty gallons and are the
safe, compliant storage unit for small business, residential garages or industrial usage.
Manufacturing Details:
Construction of the flammable storage locker begins with sturdy, 18 gauge double wall steel with 1 ½” of insulating air space. Doors are easy close, self latching with smooth closure provided by the continuous piano hinge. The fully-welded (not riveted) construction holds the storage unit square for longer life offering greater protection in a fire since air gaps are reduced. The built-in grounding connector on the outside side panel provides easy grounding while the dual vents with built-in flame arrestors that are strategically placed at the bottom and opposite top are welded, not screwed in place. The unit features welded shelf hangers that interlock with the shelf to offer maximum “no slip” stability. The 2” liquid-tight containment sump holds leaks and meets EPA requirements.
All flammable storage cabinets have a durable and chemical resistant, hybrid lead-free powder coat paint finish inside and out which retain a high gloss look and minimizes the effect of corrosion and humidity. A firefighter friendly reflective band at the bottom of the storage cabinet alerts firefighters when crawling in smoke-filled areas while the reflective labeling provides high visibility in the dark under fire conditions or power outage when illuminated by a flashlight beam. The hazard warning label is printed in three languages.
Units are completed with a flush paddle handle with slip resistant grip for easy fingertip operation and reduction of dangerous “catches” from passing traffic. Handle includes double key set for keyed lock to which a padlock may be added for increased security. All door corners of the flammable storage locker are rounded to reduce accidental nick or cuts and potential hand injury. A stainless steel, three-point bullet self-latching system provides easy, fail-safe positive door closure with increased heat resistance. Units rest on adjustable leveling feet which provide stability on uneven surfaces.

Non-sparking self-closing/self-latching cabinets for flammable liquids are required by certain individual states and counties that follow an adopted Fire Code (such as the International Fire Code (IFC), NFPA 1, or Uniform Fire Code.) The states listed below have at least one county that require the use of safety cabinets with non-sparking self-closing/self-latching doors when storing flammable liquids. In most cases this will be adopted by the entire state over time:
- Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming
